The Significance of Isgubhu Recognition

Being the cover stars of Isgubhu was more than just an accolade; it represented a pivotal moment for Afro-House and Afro-Tech. Apple Music’s Isgubhu initiative was dedicated to celebrating the best of African dance and electronic music, giving artists a global platform to showcase their sound. For U’R Home, this recognition meant greater visibility for their craft and, more importantly, for the genres they championed.

Afro-House and Afro-Tech had long been rooted in South African club culture, but their appeal rapidly expanded worldwide. By securing this prestigious cover, U’R Home continued to break barriers, taking these sounds from local stages to international dancefloors, and inspiring a new generation of producers and DJs to embrace and evolve the genre.

Curating the Soundtrack to the Future

To celebrate their Isgubhu feature, U’R Home handpicked five tracks to be included in the exclusive playlist, each reflecting the energy and innovation that defined their movement. Among these selections were Nkosi (feat. Sino Msolo) by Darque, Kabza De Small & Dlala Thukzin, Dangerous (feat. Section Five) by Sun-El Musician and Jnr SA, and Dreaming by Shimza, DJ Vitoto & Zano.

Speaking on their selections, U’R Home told Apple Music, “The strong message and the collaborative efforts behind these songs are what make them so special! These were some of our go-to dance tracks last year, and it’s amazing to see experienced musicians like Sun-El giving opportunities to young producers like Jnr SA.”
