Lotus Mae

Biography

Lotus Mae, from the streets of Johannesburg, is a music enthusiast. In 2016 she took it upon herself to study the intricacies of music while majoring in Composition, Music Production, Sound Engineering and Music Business.

Her first residency at Chesa Nyama Braamfontien, lead to her internship with ANC Medium Communications at 1912 Online Radio working alongside the likes of Ronny J Drizz and Pusher Beats. Her break into the entertainment industry came when she joined Cobra Tycoon Online Radio now known as Opulence Africa Radio. As a prominent Radio Personality and Content Producer she was featured on Best Beats TV one of the biggest Deep House YouTube Channels in South Africa. Curating Spotify Playlists for Paradise Sound System helped Lotus gain recognition from international artists such as Frakawara.

Lotus Mae has gained a rep for setting the dance floor on fire; recent gigs include Jojo Rooftop and Lounge, YFM, Kitchener’s Calvery Bar, Mzansi Limpopo and The Miller X BoilerRoom Showdown. Realizing her influence in the South African Deep House space Lotus expanded her brand to We Are Solace, a platform that focuses on curating events that feature both upcoming and well-recognized House music artists and is currently working on her Debut EP which will be available on all digital platforms later this year.
